Emergency Medical Responder Program
CPR Response Plus is an authorized provider of the Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Program.
This course is for those providing a professional level of emergency response including firefighters, law-enforcement officers, and emergency medical services personnel. Includes Basic Life Support (HCP) and AED. Meets the Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profiles for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR).
This Course provides the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness for those functioning as a member of the health care team in a pre-hospital setting.
The Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Certification is valid for 3-years and includes Basic Life Support (HCP).
Meets the Paramedic Association of Canada National Occupational Competency Profiles for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR).

Emergency Medical Responder Program
- Duration:
- Our Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Course runs over 8 days and will take approximately 80 hours to complete. Private group training is available with flexible scheduling options.
- Prerequisites:
- The prerequisite for this course is a current (valid) Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certificate issued by a recognized Canadian training provider.
- Completion of the pre-course assignments.
- Proof of certification is required to complete the registration process.
- Requirements:
- Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate the skills
- Ability to complete a written, closed book knowledge evaluation with a minimum mark of 80%
- Have completed skills checklists
- Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios (One medical and one trauma)
- Participants must attend and participate in 100% of the course
- Certification: Emergency Medical Responder & Basic Life Support (HCP).
- Certificates are issued by the Canadian Red Cross and are valid for 3-years.
Emergency Medical Responder Upgrade
- Duration:
- Our Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Upgrade Course runs over 4 days and will take approximately 40 hours to complete. Private group training is available with flexible scheduling options.
- Prerequisites:
- The prerequisite for this course is a current (valid) First Responder certificate issued by a recognized Canadian training provider.
- Completion of the pre-course assignments.
- Proof of certification is required to complete the registration process.
- Requirements:
- Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate the skills

- Our Canadian Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder Recertification Course runs over 4 days and will take approximately 40 hours to complete. Private group training is available with flexible scheduling options.
- Prerequisite:
- The prerequisite for this course is a current Emergency Medical Responder Certificate issued by a recognized Canadian training provider. Please note: You will be required to complete a full certification course if your current card says recertification on it.
- Completion of the pre-course assignments.
- Proof of certification is required to complete the registration process.
